Eni and Enel have decided to combine forces with an agreement signed 21 October 2008 and blessed by the Minister for the Environment Stefania Prestigiacomo. The trial of two Italian energy giants will last three years. Enel will capture the carbon dioxide in its central Brindisi, Eni the store in one of its wells in the Po Valley. There are no guarantees that the heavy reliance on this technique does not involve risks to the public and the environment? CCS technology will be able to respond quickly to the urgent need to reduce carbon dioxide emissions that are warming our planet?
